Thompson Optics is a family and community-focused optometry practice based in Edmonton, Alberta. It was founded by Jim Thompson, a registered optician with over 40 years of experience.
Jim Thompson’s interest in optometry began when he worked as an optical dispenser in 1995. Since then, he has worked in optometric, ophthalmologist, independent optical, and chain store practices.
After gaining the necessary experience in various practices, he co-founded Thompson Optics Ltd with a business partner, which has now been running for 40 years, and is proof that our multi-generational practice has become an important part of the local community.
In 2016, the business was acquired by Dr. Moe Tarabay. Dr Moe took the office to the next level, adding comprehensive optometry services to meet the demands of patients and ensure the highest standard of eye care for all.
Dr Moe also added specific advanced eye care services for Myopia Management and Scleral Lenses.
Fast forward to 2023, and we’ve moved to a new and bigger location that allows us to better serve our patients so that we can continue providing exceptional eye care services.
